Okiror Francis CIDD-UG plants a tree at PALLISA CPS as The RDC Pallisa Mr. Magid Dikusoka, Town clerk, DPC Look on.
Do you know that our inaction now leads to higher costs later? The risks we are facing on climate change are of today, right now and we need to act now.
“As CIDD-UG, we have been engaging with various institutions and the Local population in order to confront the impacts of climate change as well as other disaster risks. We want to be a global role model for building resilient communities and one thing we are proud of is that we are among the few indigenous and rural based organizations that sustainably engage with rural communities and have integrated climate change adaptation in all our programming with an active dissemination office”. Said Okiror Francis during the  inaugural activity of tree planting in Pallisa District where Altogether 1,000 one thousand trees were planted in Pallisa. The exercise was conducted between 15th March and 18th April 2022.
It could be true that the costs of stabilizing the climate are high but they are manageable. Our delay would however be dangerous and more costly. As CIDD-UG, we call upon the global community, to act now to avert the future disastrous effects from climate change through implementation of appropriate measures at the local, subnational, national, regional and international levels.
