CIDD-UG joined the rest of the world in the Global 16 Days of Activism Campaign against Gender Based Violence (GBV) 2021 in the COVID 19 Pandemic era. This annual event began on the 25th November, which is the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women and ran up to the 10th December, the International Human Rights Day.

It is observed to call action by all stakeholders in the International Community, Government, Development Partners, Civil Society, Private Sector, Religious and Cultural Institutions as well as Local Communities to raise awareness on GBV prevalence, reflect on the strategies for prevention and how to end the impunity.

The campaign is also a joint CSO and Government strategy focused on influencing behaviour change and securing political commitment to end the vice of Gender Based Violence (GBV). The immediate outcome of the campaign was renewed commitment of both CSO and Government to work towards ending malady.
