CIDD-UG Trains Women Candidates from Gulu and Arua on Political Campaign Management and Post-Election Conflict Resolution Skills

Women all over the world have met challenges when it comes to participation in politics and leadership positions and yet political participation is a key pillar and indicator for women’s empowerment. Exclusion of women from decision making platforms across all levels of society and governance makes it hard for women’s concerns to get onto the national agenda. Better representation would increase the passing and advocating for policies that improve the status of women.

This action/training was done by CIDD-UG to contribute to the increase of women’s informed participation in politics from the Local Government councils to Parliament. This is expected not only result in an increase in women’s voice, meaningful participation in governance and development planning but also reduced effects of political activities on women candidates and leaders.
