CIDD-UG conducts Adolecent sexual reproductive Health talks with 15 adolecents at kerith Ministries and Kibuku community during the fourth quarter.

CIDD-UG is alive to the fact that One in five young girls in Uganda is exposed to and or sexualy abused. This is manifested in different forms such as bad touches, rape, defilement, incest among others. This situation was warsend during the COVID-19 lockdown where anumber of girls were abused sexually by parents, partners, ex partners, family members, teachers, neighbors, and or  strangers. In an atempt to mitgate the impacts and reduce incedence of sexual abuse/violence agaist adolcents. CIDD-UG in partinership with Kerith ministiries embacked on a deliberate move to prepare adolecents to manage such unpleasant situation and its effects on adolecents. This activity as conducted under the Gender section of CIDD-UG in partinership with Kerith ministires was able to kick start building strong effective communication skills between and amongest the trained teenagers.

As a result of this activity, the adolecents were able to open up and shared their predicament. There after, remedies were collectively arrived at between adolecents, CIDD-UG staf and kerith ministries social worker on how to mitigate sexual abuse and increase health seeking behavious among those at risk. CIDD-UG is planing to do this across a number of institution in pallisa District to guraanty safty of adolecents wherever they are found.
