A mother in Agule Sub County calls for strict implementation of laws on property rights for women
The ability of citizens to make their voices heard and hold their governments to account is central to good governance. Its absence facilitates prevalence of that environment in which corruption can flourish and citizens are unable to assess the decisions of their leaders or make informed choices about who they elect to serve as their representatives.
To address some of these issues, CIDD-UG under her core programme area of governance regularly conducts community public accountability and service delivery dialogue meetings to help citizens and more so the vulnerable groups to raise their voice and hold their leaders to account.
Through this approach, CIDD-UG strengthened 21 community groups in Pallisa, Kibuku and Budaka districts and positioned them at a point of empowerment to demand for effective and efficient basic services, something that is placing public service delivery to the population at a higher notch.
