Gender violence is, in general, related to a predominant cultural model based on maleness. The fight against gender violence either against women or young girls cannot leave out of consideration those actions in support of the cultural changes that have to deal with the gender inequalities and their own sexuality especially amongst the youth groups.

It was against such background that Citizen Initiative for Democracy and Development Uganda (CIDD-UG), ACTION AID, Pallisa District Local Government (PDLG) AND UPF thought-out joint action to contribute to the reduction of the vice. This was done through improving the knowledge level and competences of groups of young people at community level to debate on the tools used to fight against violence in small groups.

The strategy is designed to help avoid the hegemony, general or partial, and to expand the debates and the contributions for the best awareness actions against gender violence for improved quality of life for women and young girls.
