CIDD taking young people through Digital data collection training

During the third quarter, CIDD-UG in partnership with Uwezo Uganda mobilized and trained 60 young people to collect data to generate evidence for influencing education policy for desired improved education outcomes.

The Early Language and Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (PAL-ELANA) is a direct child assessment across the learning areas of language and mathematics. It is one of the earliest attempts at designing a common assessment framework, aiming to collect evidence about early and foundational language and numeracy competencies that are aligned to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4).

Early Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (ELANA) is an adaptive testing tool, designed to measure the pre-numeracy skills on oral language acquisition, reading and comprehension skills of children in pre-primary and early primary school age groups in Pallisa District. The main objective of ELANA is to provide policymakers, educators, and stakeholders with data-driven insights into the early learning needs of children, enabling informed decision-making and resource allocation to improve educational outcomes in Uganda.
