Community member Fazila Namwabila makes demands for improved service delivery to OAG.

Uganda’s decentralized service delivery framework provides for a mixture of approaches to service delivery. These are: direct provision by local governments; private sector delivery; and civil society service delivery. Despite the mixed approaches the quality-of-service delivery to the local population remains wanting. It was against such background that CIDD-UG in partnership with CSBAG with support from GIZ mobilized the trained Community Budget Facilitators to interact with the Auditor General on key challenges affecting service delivery in eastern Uganda and remedial actions.

The meeting that was attended by Key Local governments (LGs) leaders in eastern Uganda resolved to sound a call for (LGs) to improve service delivery as part of their responsibility to meet the changing needs and demands of the citizens. CIDD-UG will now continue to follow-up on implementation of commitments made.
